On Wednesday 7th October 2026, Year 5 had a netball match against Queens Gate school. Our team (Lightening) drew 4-4.

The first half had begun with a Queens Gate centre, but soon the dice had been flipped and the ball shot down the pitch towards the Falkner House goal, where Penelope (GS) scored the first goal. The following goal was shot by Queens Gate, therefore giving the result 1 all. Our passing was swift and accurate, awarding us with a second goal. Lexi (GA) and Penelope (GS) worked extremely well together along with Parvi (C). Our star player was Juno (GD).

In the second quarter of the game, we managed to keep ourselves spread out, which meant we got the ball quicker and soon we found ourselves shooting 2 goals in a row! Penelope shot the first goal followed by Lexi getting it in a second time. In this quarter, the sides were swapped and luckily for us, once Queens Gate passed the ball in the wrong direction!

We had Nada as WD in the second half and she intercepted quite a few passes from her marker. Even though the court was quite slippery, nobody fell over or got hurt! Maria (WA) quickly found space behind the two shooters outside the D when they weren’t free. Queens Gate missed a few shots giving Dina (GK) a free ball. One of our greatest achievements was that the umpires didn’t have to blow the whistle for footwork!

Despite the cold rain and the icy weather, we still managed to not complain and have a spectacular time!
