On Monday the 29th of April, Year 6 went to the Imperial War Museum. We walked through the door and came to a big room with two planes hanging from the ceiling and a V2 rocket. There was also a table covered with items you could touch, including a baby’s gas mask and an air raid warden’s helmet. Once we had passed around all the objects, we moved on to the WW1 gallery. Inside the gallery there were lots of glass cases filled with objects and uniforms. There were also lots of big screens with images from World War One projected onto them, but best of all, there was a model trench that you could go inside and uniforms that you could dress up in. We then stopped briefly for a delicious lunch before making our way to the WW2 gallery. Inside there was a large model Anderson Shelter that you could sit in and a big map that showed all the countries and territories in the Second World War as well as a realistic WW2 house with a Morrison shelter inside. We all had an amazing time and learnt a lot, it was an incredible trip! “Suki”
