We were lucky enough to have a zoo-lab workshop to visit us in Year 2 as part of our Rainforest Geography topic.  We met Nina, a Spiny Stick Insect, Splat, a White Tree Frog, Pudding, a Corn Snake, Humphrey, an Albino Gecko, Tilly, a Curly Haired Tarantula, Turbo, a Madagascan Hissing Cockroach and Pip Squeak, a baby African Rat.

We learnt so many interesting facts.  Did you know that the Albino Gecko can drop its tail if it is caught by a predator and grow a new one? And that the Spiny Stick Insect can curl up the back of its tail to make it look like a scorpion to put off predators?  And did you know that the Madagacan Hissing Cockroach has two brains, one in its head and one in its stomach?
