Kenyan update

17th May 2019

Our contact with the Red Rhino orphanage continues. Thanks to the generosity of Falkner House families, not only are the children enjoying more books, stationery, and new clothes, but work is beginning on the new kitchen and eating area. To quote: “no more looking at cold miserable children sitting in the mud trying to eat their lunch in the rain or baking sun when no rains”. Photos of construction below!

Samuel in Year 3’s mother has very kindly offered to take another suitcase out to Nairobi at half term. We do not want to overload her, and please do not buy anything new, but if you had any spare of the following that you were poised to take to a charity shop, then do please drop these in at the office:

Reading Books / novels suitable from age 10 to young adult

Pencil cases

Teenage or 8+ clothing (including socks)

Any used but good condition trainers or school shoes (4+)

Striving for excellence within a family atmosphere
