Visit

You may wish to come and visit the school on a tour. These take place during term time and give prospective parents the opportunity to meet the team and to see the school in action on a normal school day.

Should you wish to arrange a place on a tour, please contact the school office on office20pr@falknerhouse.co.uk or +44 (0)20 7373 2340.

4+ (Reception) Entry

Most children join Falkner House in the September after they turn four (4+), into our Reception class.

If you would like to apply for 4+ entry at the boys’ school, please complete the registration form at the bottom of this page. We are delighted to accept a registration after the birth of your son. We are currently accepting registrations for entry to Reception in 2025 and onwards.

4+ Application and Assessment

Approximately one year before your son’s proposed year of entry, we will contact you to invite him for an assessment. This includes those in the Falkner House Nursery at Brechin Place. The staff work hard to make sure that the assessment experience is both friendly and personal. We are looking for potential rather than attainment and we balance a wide range of factors before offering places. Our key objective is that your son should be successful and happy at Falkner House.
Places are offered as quickly as possible after the assessment process. We try to keep to a time scale in accordance with other preparatory schools to make it easier for parents to reach their final decision.

Occasional Places

A small number of places may become available for boys wishing to join Falkner House further up the school, and in Years 3 or 4 in particular. Please contact the school office office20pr@falknerhouse.co.uk +44 (0) 207 373 2340 in order to register. Assessment and interview will take place in the Spring term before your son is eligible to join Falkner House. Prospective boys will have the opportunity to spend time with the relevant class.

Siblings

As part of our family ethos, we support a sibling policy. However, we do not always guarantee a sibling place and, if we believe a brother will flourish more in another environment, we discuss the matter with parents. We strongly recommend that parents register any of their younger children at other schools as well as Falkner House.

Nursery Entry

There is a co-educational Nursery at Brechin Place, which offers places on a first come first served basis, i.e. the sooner a child is registered after birth the higher the priority. Children must be registered within a year of birth because the small size of the nursery means that it would be unreasonable of us to accept unlimited applications. The Nursery Timings table indicates what term your child would be due to start Nursery, depending on their birthday. Please note that a place in Nursery does not guarantee a child a place at either the boys’ or girls’ school.
