Autumn is the season of change and this week we have been exploring the many beautiful and changing colours we see during this season.

We enjoyed a creative and colourful week experimenting mixing primary colours to create secondary colours and explored what happens when we mixed all three primary colours together, creating brown.

Inspired by the book ‘The Colour Monster’ by Anna Llenas, we discussed how colours make us feel. There was a lot of laughter as we acted out the different feelings of the colour monsters to the tune of  ‘If You’re Happy and You Know It’. The children chose their favourite colour to create a colourful handprint work of art for the wall and sorted coloured objects into our feeling jars.

The Little Red Hen’s kitchen under the stairs was very popular, as well as the farm in the Letter Room.
