This week we continued to focus on ‘Transport in London’.
The bus parked under the stairs remained a huge hit, with drivers requiring to work in shifts so everyone who wished to sit up front to drive around the city, could.
The mechanics were kept very busy as they finished building box buses. Once they were completed the children then moved onto the black Hackney cabs resulting in five forms of transport being driven around both in the classroom and outside.
We couldn’t focus on transport in London without looking at the importance of road safety! The children discussed and shared the different rules of keeping safe when walking or scootering with family and friends and why we have rules for crossing the road.
We all joined in with the TFL Discoverers catchy song about following the safety rules, ‘Stop. Look. Listen. Think.’ a great action song to add to our collection of London transport songs!
