We have had a fun filled week focusing on the stunning minibeast – the dragonfly.
The children enjoyed waterplay in the ‘lilypond’ while learning about a new lifecycle with dragonflies and their baby nymphs.
Under the stairs the children explored the world of insects as they flew around and scuttled about in the minibeast garden.
We enjoyed a creative week counting and cutting out three body parts; head, thorax and abdomen, to make our own insects and created triangle works of art.
The children constructed homes using various construction materials for a horde of minibeasts and a prickle of hedgehogs, recently woken from their hibernation slumber!
On Friday, there was a lot of laughter and hugs, as we wished Miss Laing well on this exciting new chapter as she leaves us to start her maternity leave in preparation for the arrival of her baby boy. We all look forward to meeting him in the near future!
