This week in nursery we continued to focus on the artist Paul Klee. Inspired by the book ‘Cat and Bird’ by Géraldine Elschner and Paul Klee’s ‘Castle and Sun’, the children constructed cities and castles both under the stairs and in the number room using a selection of various blocks and shapes.
In the letter room we focused on the sound ‘n’. Here we took inspiration from Vincent van Gogh’s ‘The Starry Night’ and created our own works of art with finger paint and a sprinkling of stars. For those who wished to continue this wonderfully messy expression of art; dollops of finger paint were generously added to the sensory tray for the children to enjoy!
Continuing the night theme, a tepee was erected to house a mixture of sleepy and a few raucous campers along with nocturnal animals.
Next week is sports day! We look forward to welcoming you all to come and support the children for their fun filled sports day. All the details are on calendar entry and will also be on the Friday email.
