We had a wonderful start to the new school year, focusing on friendships and ‘settling back into Nursery’. The children enjoyed meeting and making new friends and shared stories of their holiday adventures. The activities and areas both inside and out were explored within their Nursery setting.

Our nook under the stairs became a kitchen where the children cooked for their friends and teachers. The laughter could be heard in both classes as the budding chefs shared their culinary treats, the roasted bottle of salad dressing was particularly delicious!

In the number room we focused on the number 1 and the colour yellow. We had a fun and creative week making yellow works of art, moulding yellow playdough and exploring yellow treasures in the colour sensory tray.

In the letter room, teddy bears of all shapes and sizes came out to play. From colouring pictures, to puzzles, songs and books and of course, sharing picnics in the woods.

Inspired by the much-loved book ‘Pete and Polo’s Nursery School Adventure’, by Adrian Reynolds, everyone made a teddy bear mask to take home.
