This week we focused on the fairy tale ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’. We looked at original stories from authors like Vera Southgate and F. Rogankovsky and a few newer versions of the story such as books by Emma Chichester Clark and Gerda Muller.

We have had a creative and busy few days. Under the stairs our ‘nook’ became the bears home. The children thoroughly enjoyed retelling and re-enacting the original story and creating their own versions of the well-known fairy tale.

In the letter room the children furnished and refurnished the doll’s house, making a warm and inviting home for the three bears – and their uninvited guest, Goldilocks!

Each child painted a ‘b’ for brown bear. We all drew and cut out a big bowl, a medium sized bowl and a little bowl which was filled with ‘porridge’.
