This week in Nursery we enjoyed meeting and making new friends. Inspired by the book Pete and Polo’s Nursery School Adventure by Adrian Reynolds, everyone made a teddy bear mask to take home.
Our new topic for the autumn term is ‘Fairy Tales’!
As Albert Einstein said,
“If you want your children to be intelligent, read them fairy tales. If you want them to be more intelligent, read them more fairy tales.”
This week we focused on the fairy tale ‘The Gingerbread Man’. We looked at a few versions of the story with different characters and sometimes a different title, but all with the same key characters, plot and moral. We enjoyed a creative week playing with spiced ginger playdough and decorating ‘one’ gingerbread friend each. The children retold and re-enacted the story of ‘The Gingerbread Man’ and created their own versions in ‘the little old woman’s kitchen’ under the stairs.
This morning we joined the big girls in the hall for a special remembrance assembly to honour her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, a truly remarkable woman without compare.
