We started the week with snow! We had such fun outside throwing mini snowballs and enjoying the flurry of snowflakes around us.

This week we continued focusing on the fairy tale, ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’.

There was great excitement as we watched the bean seeds we planted germinate and grow.

Today we celebrated Chinese New Year! The children were introduced to some of the traditions celebrated throughout the 15 days and the story behind the Chinese zodiac animals.  We had a fun filled day making lanterns to take home, playing in the panda sanctuary beside the Great Wall, re-enacting the story of The Great Race with the small world animals and splashing in the waterlily water play pond. We enjoyed a delicious feast of vegetable spring rolls, noodles and of course fortune cookies.
