This week we focused on Easter, a time to think about love and forgiveness within our families and friends and enjoy the wonders of the new life we see in spring.
Mother animals and their spring babies continued to be favoured areas of play. Under the stairs, more stories were created around the soft toy farm animals. The small world farm moved into the letter room and with the addition of farm vehicles, became a very popular corner!
In the number room, the children enjoyed a scented sensory experience as they scooped up and poured lavender rice through their fingers and whipped up ‘lavender porridge’ with the wooden scoops and bowls.
We had a fun filled and creative week making Easter related crafts. Cardboard rolls were transformed onto ‘cotton tail’ rabbits and ears were cut around and decorated to become rabbit hats.
Today we celebrated the end of the term with a scrumptious Easter party. There was great excitement as the Easter Rabbit left eggs hidden around the classroom for us to find.
The children are very excited and proud to bring their spring term folders home today. Please take the time to go through them with your children – it is a treasury of creativity, which highlights what we have focused on this term.
We wish you all a wonderful holiday and look forward to seeing you again in the Summer term.
