On Tuesday we celebrated Burns day! We all had a fun-filled day, learning about Scotland and Robbie Burns. The children were introduced to the first verse of the poem ‘My Heart is in the Highlands’ and ate Scottie dog shortbread biscuits for snack. We then finished off both sessions with an energetic reel accompanied by ‘The Dashing White Sergeant’!

This week the children thoroughly enjoyed playing with the Scottish animals in the red deer park. Using lashings of glue, everyone made their own ‘d’ for deer.

In the Number room, the creativity was extended as the children made works of art with triangles.

Inspired by the story ‘Goldilocks and the Three Dinosaurs’ by Mo Willems, the children re-enacted the story, creating their own versions of the alternative version ‘three dinosaurs house’ under the stairs.

As always, the children enjoyed the sensory experiences we had out this week. Our sensory tray was filled with porridge oats for the children to measure out for each of the hungry bears.

On Tuesday we will be celebrating Lunar New Year. The children are welcome to dress up as their zodiac animal.
