In Nursery we continued our topic discovering what wild animals do in autumn and how they prepare for the winter season. This week we focused on animals that hibernate in the United Kingdom.
We enjoyed matching the animals, minibeasts, reptiles and amphibians with their hibernating habitats and making and finding homes for the hibernators in the cave under the stairs.
We made pictures using wooden shapes, hammers and tacks and had fun playing the dice hedgehog game.
The children worked together to build homes using magnet tiles and had fun with small world role play, re-arranging and setting up the furniture to make a cosy home for the dolls.
Next week we will continue to look at how animals prepare for the winter season and focus on adaptation, the animals that stay for the winter months.
