This week in Nursery we rounded up our autumn topic, discovering what wild animals do in autumn and how they prepare for winter. We focused on animals that stay and adapt to the colder season.
In the winter woods, under the stairs the children enjoyed playing with animals we see out and about during the winter months.
The children sat and listened to the charming book, ‘Robin’s Winter Song’, by Suzanne Barton, which covers migration, hibernation and adaption. This led to many discussions about the animals we have covered these last two weeks.
Following the story, we all made our own robin ornaments to decorate Nursery’s Christmas tree!
I am sure you have all heard snippets of the songs we have been practising for our Christmas show. There was great excitement as the children found out what group they will be in and started making their hats for our show.
