On Monday we all sat together under the glow of fairy lights to listen to our first advent Christmas book. There was great excitement as the children discovered a picture clue hiding behind number 2, showing us which book to search for.
Throughout the week we kept a sharp eye out for author Lynley Dodds’ mischievous cat, Slinky Malinki. Each year he likes to hide in Nursery’s Christmas tree, but is never in the same place as the day before!
We have all enjoyed a busy, creative and festive week! Our Christmas shows were a great success. The children performed beautifully, singing songs that told the story of Christmas. Thank you for all your support, the children were very excited to sing to you all!
Lashings of glue, bowls of snow glitter and scissors were all used to make photo frame snowflakes and snowmen Christmas cards.
Under the stairs our nook became a cosy kitchen where the children baked batches of delicious Christmas cookies and in the classrooms the children enjoyed winter snow themed activities.
Request: Could everyone please bring in a carrier bag on Monday, something to fit the children’s autumn terms folders in, as well as their Christmas craft creations, so they can be packed and ready to go for the last day of term.
