We have had a very exciting week in Nursery. On Monday and Tuesday, we visited Holland Park for our minibeast adventure at the Ecology Centre. A lot of fun was had by all as we cautiously rolled logs over to see what creatures were nestled in and crawling over and under. The minibeasts were carefully swept into magnifying pottles and observed before gently being released back into the woodland.

Under the stairs our nook became a home for the Very Hungry Caterpillar and his friends. In the number room we focused on patterns and in the letter room we focused on the sound ‘o’ for opposites. We played opposite card games, acted out opposite actions in the playground and sang fun action opposite songs.

Caterpillar Update: After a weekend of rest we carefully moved the chrysalides into the butterfly house for them to complete their metamorphosis. We have kept a close eye on them as they changed colour. Then on Friday morning the first butterfly emerged!
