We have had a fun filled week focusing on the stunning minibeast – the dragonfly.
The children enjoyed waterplay in the ‘lilypond’ while learning about a new lifecycle with dragonflies and their baby nymphs. Under the stairs our garden changed into a koi pond, the perfect habitat for our larger dragonflies.
In the number room we were busy with rectangle activities, both in the shape tray and constructing rectangle art.
In the letter room, zebras were drawn with black pencils on white card, all individual and all with personality! The children became caretakers for the many shy and demur animals as well as the more boisterous ones causing a rumpus in the small world zoo.
On Friday, the morning class joined the main school in the playground for their pet day parade. Many animals did the rounds in the playground from a fish in a jar, to Deniz’s giant African land snail, to cats, dogs, ferrets and a gerbil.
