This week we continued to focus on London Parks. With around 3000 parks and green spaces in London to choose from, here in Nursery, Percy’s park under the stairs was very popular and at times very populated. Fun was had by all!
The fun spilled into the letter room with the farmers market being in just as much demand. The baked goods and home-grown seasonal fruit and vegetables were sorted, sold and ‘nibbled’ on.
Last weeks adventure to Kensington Gardens was very fruitful. All the natural treasures collected were decanted into trays and troughs to be explored and rifled through.
Our colour of the week led a variety of activities including colour mixing our own shades of orange, to paint model clay leaf prints
In keeping with our sound of the week ‘p’ and colour orange, a lot of emotions were experienced whilst taking part in the sensory experience of exploring the inside and outside of pumpkins. From laughter to quiet uncertainty and smiles to grimaces, those who were keen, collected seeds in in amongst the fibrous strands. More were eager to add jug fills, cup fills and spoons fills of water to make ‘pumpkin soup’!
A big thank you also to everyone who came to Nursery’s open day on Friday. The children were very excited to show parents, grandparents, siblings and their nannies ‘their world’, the activities they enjoy in Nursery and of course their art in their folders and on the walls.
Half term has arrived, this is a good opportunity to take plenty of rest. We would strongly encourage children to practise putting on their own shoes and socks during this time.
The Nursery team wish you all a wonderful half term break and we look forward to hearing all about your adventures when Nursery starts again Monday 2nd November.
