This week we continued focusing on the fairy tale, ‘The Three Little Pigs’. We looked at some of the more traditional versions of the story and a couple of new stories inspired by the originals such as ‘The Three Little Pigs and the Big Bad Book’, by Lucy Rowland and ‘The Three Little Yogis and the Wolf’, by Susan Verde.
The children retold and made up their own versions of the fairy-tale using the story puppets.
We looked at the family from the Three Little Pigs and the three different homes they built, then experimented with these different resources to see how easily or hard it was to move and blow across the floor.
We had a lot of fun building houses using various construction toys. Some homes were sturdier than others: let’s just say the wolf was well fed!
Much to the delight of the children, we had two furry visitors this week, Humphrey and Norman, the school’s guinea pigs. For those willing, the guinea pigs were greeted with gentle hands and cuddles!
